U3A began in France in the 1970s. During the 1990s, Harry Higgs, a rocket scientist who had managed the Woomera Rocket Range, along with his wife Marcia,a language teacher, retired in Ulladulla. Together with a group of friends they began U3A Milton-Ulladulla as an autonomous group. Marcia was Patron of MU-U3A until her death a few years ago. U3A Milton-Ulladulla is affiliated with U3A Network NSW.
Membership of Milton-Ulladulla Campus costs $20 a year or if joining after 30 June of that calendar year, $10. This is renewable each January but you can join anytime. Membership makes you eligible to enrol in courses, join in activities, and provides insurance cover when at U3A. If you enrol on a course, you pay a course fee per term; currently, one course costs $10 a term, a second costs $5; subsequent courses in the same term are free. Joining a course could not be simpler. As a member, each term you will receive our Newsletter. From it, you select the course in which you would like to participate, phone the tutor to enrol, and then just turn up on the day and pay your dues.
The campus is managed by a committee of office-bearers and members, elected each July at the Campus Annual General Meeting. The committee meets quarterly. The current Committee Members and their contact details are listed on the back page of the newsletter posted on this site
Do you have a knowledge or skill, and an enthusiasm that you could share with others? Our members have an insatiable appetite for courses and classes, and make appreciative audiences. No formal qualifications are needed to lead or to tutor a group. If you like interacting with people, and are prepared to put a little spadework into preparing discussion or tuition sessions, you will enjoy the satisfaction of enlightening and exchanging with your fellow members.
